Your TikTok Shop launch checklist

YOUR LAUNCH CHECKLIST

Tick off each job as you go. Progress is saved in this browser on this device. The ticks are your reminders; they do not verify marketplace approval.

0 of 10 complete

Your identity documents, bank details and passwords belong in the official marketplace account. This checklist stores ticks only.

1. Decide: selling products or promoting them?

Open a seller account when your business will list and fulfil products. The creator affiliate route is for promoting eligible products through content and earning commission on attributed purchases. Choose the route for the job you actually want to do.

2. Choose your legal structure and gather the right details

Use the business type that matches your legal situation. The UK registration guide has separate paths for sole traders/individuals and organisations. For the individual route, check its accepted UK-issued ID requirements. Organisations need registration details and a verified representative, with additional ownership information where requested.

Check the live requirements before applying. Keep legal names and registration information consistent. A shop trading name should not replace the legal business name in verification fields.

3. Register and complete verification

Start in TikTok Shop UK Seller Center ↗. Register with your chosen phone, email or TikTok account, verify the contact method and follow the identity checks. Review the business information, shop name and contact details before submitting.

Approval time depends on the application. If a document is rejected, read the reason in the official account and correct that mismatch before submitting again. SellerBundle cannot approve an application.

4. Make the shop ready to fulfil orders

Complete the warehouse address and review the shipping setup selected for your shop. Check return arrangements, enter the requested payout information and connect the relevant TikTok account. The shop setup screen shows the outstanding tasks.

Our practical suggestion: start with a small catalogue you can reliably dispatch. Use clear product photos and accurate variations, stock, sizes and descriptions. Write down who will pack orders and deal with returns before publishing.

5. Price the sale before recruiting creators

A sale has more costs than the product itself. Include packaging, delivery, platform fees, creator commission, paid advertising, sample costs and a sensible reserve for returns. Platform and creator fees use different calculation bases, so adding the percentages together can mislead.

The free TikTok Shop profit calculator separates them. Replace its example rates with your account’s terms. For a Shop Ads order, use the applicable creator rate once; the financial guide says Shop Ads creator commission replaces the ordinary creator commission on that order.

6. Prepare the first content and review the result

Our suggested first test: show one product clearly, explain its main use, demonstrate the detail buyers need to see and give an honest buying prompt. Plan a repeatable routine for content, stock checks, packing and customer questions.

After the first orders, compare statements with what you spent. Review contribution and time per order as well as views. Use the free notepad for talking points and the batch image studio for suitable photo exports.

Quick questions

Is a creator account the same as a shop?

No. Selling your stock and promoting another seller’s stock are separate roles. Check the official route’s eligibility instead of borrowing follower requirements from an unrelated role.

Does this checklist create the account?

No. It helps you organise the work. Registration, identity checks, bank details and approval happen directly with TikTok.

Can I save my progress?

Yes. Checklist ticks are saved in this browser. Download TXT for a separate copy you can keep on your phone or computer.
