Start by comparing Starling and Monzo Lite for ordinary UK payments. Check eligibility and features before applying.
An editorial starting shortlist based on these use cases. This directory covers seven researched options, not the whole market. It does not predict approval or rank by commission.
THE OPTIONS AT A GLANCE
Pick the fit. Check the details.
UK business accounts and e-money services compared
Compare the account plus admin features, while checking the transfer allowance and the legal provider of your account.
Free plan · paid plans available
The current pricing page shows five bank transfers per month on Free. Check charges outside allowances, cash and cheque deposits, FX and optional admin features. Support pages can describe different or legacy plans.
Check your account provider
Watch for: A £0 plan does not mean every transaction is free. Check the current fee schedule attached to your offer.
An e-money account with business admin tools. Compare the income-based Free-plan charge with your actual monthly receipts.
Free £0 monthly plan fee
Free currently includes the first £1,000 of monthly incoming money, then charges 0.95% above it. Other plans, services and tax features have their own charges; check the full current pricing.
E-money · safeguarded main balance
Watch for: Income-based charges can change the total cost quickly. Tax automation does not replace checking your obligations and adviser’s scope.
A useful shortlist for international trading when the actual currency and payment fees fit your volumes.
£50 one-off setup for full features
No monthly subscription for the ordinary account. Setup/account-detail access is £50 in the current UK pricing; transfer and conversion charges vary by currency and route. Check the quote for your actual payment.
UK e-money · safeguarding
Watch for: Compare the exact currency pair, receipt route and transfer size. An e-money account is not the same protection arrangement as a UK bank deposit.
Compare its currency allowances, team controls and paid plan against the transactions your business actually makes.
Basic from £10/month
Transfer and FX allowances vary by plan. The current page lists charges outside allowances and outside market hours; compare these alongside the subscription and optional team features.
Check UK bank transition status
Watch for: Check the contract entity, migration status and charges beyond allowances. A paid plan is not automatically cheaper than a per-transfer service.
Price your usual transfers, cash deposits, cards, currencies and software. Check allowances and regular prices after offers end.
02
Check what protects the balance
Eligible UK bank deposits currently have FSCS protection up to £120,000 per depositor under a banking licence. Accounts sharing a licence aggregate. E-money safeguarding is a different arrangement.
03
Keep approval realistic
Have identity, address, ownership, activity and business records ready. Application times vary. No account here guarantees acceptance or an instant opening.
FSCS covers eligible deposits when a bank fails. It is not a guarantee against every scam, trading loss or disputed payment. Sole-trader personal and business deposits can share one limit; a limited company may be a separate eligible depositor.
Can these accounts earn SellerBundle commission?
We found public application routes for Tide, ANNA, Wise and Revolut Business. Adding a comparison does not enrol SellerBundle, connect tracking or generate income. Starling, Monzo and Mettle remain useful editorial comparisons even without a verified publisher application route.
Approved referral buttons will be labelled when a real issued tracking link is connected. The best account for a visitor is based on their needs; commission does not determine the shortlist.
