Check one purchase order against the supplier invoice, expected receipt date and the cash payment in your plan.
THE SOURCED NEWS
What happened?
Shopify announced on 6 October that purchase-order data can now be reviewed and exported in Analytics. The new reports cover costs, transfers and purchases on order without linked transfers.
The Purchase Orders page also shows information such as total items ordered, acceptance rate and shipments due soon. Access and the usefulness of the reports depend on your own setup and records.
SELLERBUNDLE PRACTICAL ANALYSIS
Ordered stock is a commitment, not a sale
Review the quantity, cost and expected arrival for a representative order. Check what has been confirmed by the supplier and what remains an estimate. Keep a separate note of the date you actually have to pay, because goods arriving and cash leaving do not always happen together.
Before reordering, compare incoming stock with current quantities and recent demand. A long lead time can make an early order sensible, but buying too far ahead can tie up cash. The useful question is which assumption your decision depends on.
SELLERBUNDLE PRACTICAL ANALYSIS
Turn the export into one clear review
Use a manageable selection first. Match the report to a real supplier document and a received shipment so you understand what each field means. Ask which taxes, adjustments or partial receipts are included before treating a total as final.
Put the payment into your cash plan and try a slower-sales scenario. A better view of purchase orders can support a decision, but it cannot forecast demand for you. Our suggestion is to connect stock, supplier commitments and cash in the same review.
