Whatnot’s 2027 trends: use the ideas, test the demand.

Whatnot published its 2027 Consumer Trends Report on 20 October. It mixes platform activity, seller insights and a survey of 2,000 UK adults. Vintage fashion, nostalgic toys and collecting feature prominently. The forecasts can inspire a small test, but they do not guarantee demand for your stock.

THE SOURCED NEWS

A platform report, with different kinds of evidence

The UK survey was conducted by Censuswide from 6 to 9 October among 2,000 adults. Whatnot says 38% of Gen Z respondents reported shopping live more than a year earlier. That is a reported change in behaviour, not a prediction of what your next show will sell.

The report also uses Whatnot’s internal 2026 activity and seller perspectives to discuss 2027 trends. Its methodology says platform figures are global unless stated otherwise. Keep those observations separate from the UK survey and from the company’s forecasts.

SELLERBUNDLE PRACTICAL ANALYSIS

SellerBundle: turn one trend into a small experiment

Start with a category you understand. A vintage seller could test a tightly themed selection from existing stock, while a collector might improve the way condition and included accessories are shown. You do not need a large new purchase to learn whether customers respond.

Write down the question you want to answer. Will a clearer demonstration reduce repeated questions? Does a particular theme attract completed orders? Keep the stock cost and preparation time within an amount you can afford if the test is quiet.

SELLERBUNDLE PRACTICAL ANALYSIS

Measure the sale after the excitement

Record the money received, selling costs, packing, delivery and time spent. Note cancellations or refunds as well as the headline sales total. Views, searches and lively chat are useful signals, but the business result depends on what remains after costs.

Compare the test with a similar session and save what you would repeat or change. Check the rules and requirements for any new product category before buying stock. Treat a forecast as a prompt to investigate, with your own customers providing the next piece of evidence.
