Technology / Walmart / US platform context · Walmart.com; no UK rollout confirmed

Walmart’s AI-shopping plans put customer controls in the picture.

Walmart announced Agent Profiles, an Agent Gateway and agent-shopping terms on 21 October. Profiles are planned to launch in the following month, with purchase approvals or customer-set spending limits. The gateway begins with a company-and-developer beta. This is a platform development, not a new UK seller entitlement.

Keep product information clear and test order handling; do not buy extra software just because a new shopping route has been announced.

THE SOURCED NEWS

A planned route, with permission checks

Walmart says customers will be able to authorise individual agents through dedicated profiles and see their purchases separately. It describes approval for each purchase or permission within a spending limit, with the ability to turn a profile off.

The 21 October release says Agent Profiles are launching in the next month and the Agent Gateway will begin with a beta for companies and developers. It also sets terms for agents, including customer approval by default. No exact launch day or UK availability is confirmed in the announcement.

SELLERBUNDLE PRACTICAL ANALYSIS

SellerBundle: prepare the information you already control

For a UK seller watching US retail developments, the useful starting point is a product page a customer can understand. Check the product name, variant, price, stock position and delivery information against the item you actually supply.

Keep important limitations visible. If a product needs artwork approval or another customer decision, explain that step clearly. A new way to place an order does not remove the need to know which version the customer wants and when it can realistically leave.

SELLERBUNDLE PRACTICAL ANALYSIS

Judge a new channel by completed orders

If you already sell through Walmart, check the current guidance for your account before assuming a feature applies to your listings or workflow. Keep existing order, refund and reconciliation checks working while you assess any available change.

For other sellers, save the official announcement and a review date. Wait for confirmed access, terms and costs before committing money to an integration. The practical measure will be whether a supported route produces accurate, fulfilled orders at a cost that works for your business.
