Keep packaging specifications and practical evidence together before asking whether a proposed change affects your business.
THE SOURCED NEWS
A route to propose changes
PackUK says UK Packaging PRO will help coordinate, review and prioritise proposals supported by evidence. For RAM 2028, the organisations plan to focus on a smaller number of priorities, including issues producers have already raised about take-back schemes.
The government release asks producers and packaging supply-chain stakeholders to provide supporting evidence by 31 December 2026. Submissions will be reviewed before recommendations are developed. The deadline concerns proposals for future methodology, not a new general exemption for small shops.
SELLERBUNDLE PRACTICAL ANALYSIS
SellerBundle: know what you put around the product
Choose a typical parcel and list its box or mailer, protective material, labels and any inserts. Keep the supplier’s specification, the product reference and the date together. If a material description is unclear, ask the supplier to clarify it before relying on a broad claim.
Note practical problems precisely: which component is involved, what the issue is and what evidence supports it. A clear example is easier for a supplier or adviser to assess than a general request for cheaper packaging.
SELLERBUNDLE PRACTICAL ANALYSIS
Separate useful feedback from current obligations
If you want to contribute, follow the further-information link and submission instructions in the official government release. Keep a copy of your evidence and any response so you can explain the issue consistently.
Check the rules and responsibilities that actually apply to your business before changing reporting or packaging decisions. A proposed methodology improvement is not a confirmed reduction in your bill. Compare any packaging alternative for protection, cost and customer instructions as well as the evidence behind its recyclability description.
