Delivery & resilience / Shopify / UK / global · eligible Managed Markets stores; limited early access

Shopify’s flat-rate shipping: check the whole customer total.

Shopify’s 24 October release adds managed flat shipping rates with duty-inclusive prices. The help guide labels the option early access for selected merchants. Part of shipping moves into product prices, so a smaller delivery charge alone does not show whether an offer is cheaper.

THE SOURCED NEWS

The guarantee has conditions

Shopify says qualifying prepaid FedEx and DHL Express labels protect against later carrier cost adjustments. Rates are managed by Shopify and require duty-inclusive pricing. Using your own rates removes the label-cost guarantee.

UK Managed Markets requirements include a UK business and fulfilment location, plus other store and product conditions. Locations cannot span both Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Meeting those general requirements does not guarantee access to this early-access feature.

SELLERBUNDLE PRACTICAL ANALYSIS

SellerBundle: compare the basket, not one line

Choose a typical product and a destination you actually serve. Record the product price, shipping charge, customer total and expected payout under the current setup. Use the preview to compare the same basket before deciding whether to change anything.

Try a smaller and a larger order as well. A setup that makes one basket attractive might work differently for another. Include your packing costs and the time needed to handle a return when deciding what margin you need.

SELLERBUNDLE PRACTICAL ANALYSIS

Check the journey after the preview

If the feature is available and suits your business, start with a market you can monitor closely. Check the live product page and checkout through the normal customer journey. Keep a dated record of the settings and the result.

Make sure the person buying labels understands the conditions. Review a completed order against the expected payout, and investigate differences before expanding the setup. Treat the guarantee as a defined feature with qualifying conditions, rather than a promise covering every delivery cost.
